Aloe Vera and MSN Drink

MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) is a naturally occurring dietary sulfur compound found in all living things. Sulfur is present in every cell in the human body, and is the eighth-most common compound in the body. It makes up about 1% of a persons body weight, and is critical to the normal function and structure of the human body.
MSM is a raw material needed for the natural production of protein, and connective tissue. This natural compound helps protect us against toxicity, and harmful oxidation stress.

Glucosamine sulfate and Chondroitin sulfate are two natural substances that help maintain the structure and health of cartilage, , tendons, and joints, it also helps support the synovial fluid (between the joints) keeping this natural ‘shock absorber’ well hydrated and the lubricating. Glucosamine Sulfate is derived primarily from  shellfish.  As the body ages it looses its ability to produce healthy cartilage which makes it susceptible to wear and tear, especially in women, making supplementation with MSM, glucosimine and Chondroitin hugely beneficial.

Forever Freedom, is a breakthrough formula, has combined the most complete range of nutrients on the market today, essential for the maintenance of healthy joint function and mobility.  Forever Freedom has married the rich nutrients of stabilised aloe vera gel with glucosamine sulphate, chondroitin sulfate, methylsulphonylmethane (MSM), ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and tocopherol(vitamin E).
Aloe vera Increased bio-availability (better absorption) of the MSM . Vitamin C is necessary wherever healing takes place but is particularly important in the functioning of MSM

Forever Freedom greatly benefits sportsmen and women, the overweight and heavy manual workers. It  provides the usually recommended amounts of glucosamine sulfate (1500mg),chondroitin sulfate (1200mg) plus 750mg of MSM and 250mg of vitamin C per 120ml (4fl oz) serving. Buy Here

Powerful Antioxidant

Free Radicals, toxins, antioxidants and detoxification are buzz word in today health world. Both conventional and alternative medicine recognizes the importance of free radicals and toxins in relation to diseases especially cancer. Free radicals and toxins may refer to different things but what is common about them is that we all are exposed to them from the environment inform of cigarette smoking, air pollution, pesticides, drugs and medications, water contamination etc. Both cause damage to our bodies and the effect is cumulative way – worsening with age.
To detoxify and to protect our bodies from the effects of free radicals we need to consume lots and lots of organically grown vegetables and fruits. However, the exposure being so high in our modern world we hardly eat enough of the vegetables and fruits to match the free radicals and toxins in our bodies. That is the big reason why we need to boost our antioxidant intake levels than ever before. Some fruits are known to have higher antioxidants value than other. Such fruits as Mangosteens, pomegranates, blueberries, grape seeds, raspberries, blackberries and pears.
Our Forever Pomesteen Power is a cocktail fruit juice of all the above fruits providing a powerful antioxidant formula that should a part of your daily diet. Experience it now. Buy it here

Absorbent Vitamin C Supplement

Daily vitamin C has long been associated with good health - ever since the days that sailors discovered  the importance of citrus fruits on long sea voyages. Science has now provided us with a list of other benefits derived from this most famous of all vitamins. It is a powerful antioxidant, forming part of the body’s defense system against the harmful effects of free radicals. Vitamin C is a beneficial supplement for the skin,as it increases the formulation of inter-cellular collagen. Vitamin C is necessary for the maintenance of healthy connective tissue. Vitamin C is water-soluble - any excess is excreted from the body. Since humans are unable to make their own vitamin C, we must therefore get it from our food, drink and supplements. The need for adequate levels of vitamin C is very evident. Science reports that one cigarette destroys 25mg of vitamin C. Stress, medication and environmental factors all deplete the body of vitamin C.

Oat bran helps aid absorption of Vitamin C. Oat bran is a soluble fibre found in unrefined oats. It acts like a sponge, absorbing water in the stomach and small intestine, slowing down the digestion process and giving a feeling of satisfaction. Research shows that soluble fibre can also help reduce cholesterol levels in the bloodstream. There was much wisdom in mothers providing a bowl of oat porridge and a glass of orange juice for breakfast.

Our Absorbent-C Forever Living Products with oat bran is an outstanding nutritional supplement. The bonded matrix composition, developed through a patented process, is a unique delivery system enabling the body to absorb the full 60mg of vitamin C from each tablet. A daily intake of Absorbent-C is highly recommended for good health. It Contains no sugar, preservatives, starch or artificial colourings. Buy it here...

Hair management

My hair care regime has been guided by understanding 3 key aspects (i) hair strand structure and origin (ii) nutrition for hair (iii) pH as related to hair. In this post, lets discuss each of these, and how it applies to hair care:

1.     Hair structure
Hair Follicles: Hair originates from the dermis part of the skin and the hair follicles located in the dermis (middle layer of the skin) maintain stem cells from which hair regrows. Stems cells supplied by blood capillaries which feed them with vital nutrients. The follicle is the only living part of hair. Hair as we see it produces no biochemical activity and is considered dead. Not more than 10 % of hair follicles are in resting condition at any given time. The shape of the hair follicle determines the shape of the fiber or in other words how straight or curly the hair is. Round hair follicle produces generally straight hair and oval and irregularly shaped follicle produce more wavy and curly hair types.

Hair has basically 3 layers:
(a)   Cuticle layer which consist of flat thin cells laid out overlapping one another just like roof shingles: Cuticle determines shine – how hair reflects light- straight hair type reflect light more than curly and wavy hair. The cuticle protects the cortex from damage but over time it can wear off exposing the cortex to even further damage. As hair grows longer cuticle layer erodes due to friction with other hair strands, brushing, combing etc. This leads to split ends and/ or gaps in the cuticle.
(b)   Cortex is Keratin bundles that remain roughly rod like: Cortex is the primary source of hair mechanical strength and water uptake and contains melanin which colours the fiber.
(c)    Medulla - is the open area at the centre of the fiber.

2.     Hair Nutrition: Since originates from the stem cell in the hair follicle, nourishing hair start from inside the body, nutrition, metabolism and hormone plays key role in growth and health of hair. A good hair care regime all boils to nutrition.

Important nutrients for hair
(a)   Vitamins B group – B12 prevents hair loss, Biotin (B7) promotes growth deficiency if which can lead to alopecia or thinning and eventual loss of hair, B5 give hair flexibility, strength and shine while reducing loss and aging of hair, B6 prevents dandruffs.
(b)   Vitamin A and C helps on the production of Sebum which is a natural conditioner of hair. In Curly and wavy increased production of sebum is important to reduce dryness of the hair than in straight hair.
(c)    Vitamin E: Stimulates the circulation in the scalp.
(d)   Proteins: Low proteins leads to brittle hair. The quality of protein is also important as is the quantity. Profound deficiencies of proteins can lead to loss of hair color.

Important minerals for Hair are:
(a)   Zinc: Zinc deficiency can lead to shedding of hair,
(b)   Selenium: aids the body to utilize proteins consumed: hair is predominantly protein
(c)  Calcium: Hair follicles use calcium to make keratinized protein- keratin are insoluble proteins that make hair and nails.
(d)   Iron: Helps increase blood circulation to the hair follicles and scalp which fuels hair growth
(e)   MSM It is Sulfur found in foods, it naturally increases your hair growth.
(f)    Magnesium: helps build proteins and cell membranes

Ultimate hair care means taking your diet seriously and even supplementing to ensure you have these nutrients and minerals. In addition the same minerals especially protein and vitamins need to be main ingredients of Shampoos and rinse, deep and leave-in conditioners.

3.     PH and Hair:
What I understand pH to mean in lay man’s language is a measure the alkalinity or acidity of a substance or environment. Alkalinity and acidity has to do with potential hydrogen in the substance. Acids have high concentration of H+ than OH- and alkaline have more concentration of OH-than H+. Water is said to be neutral or in balance of the two ions. pH is measured on a scale of 0-14 where 7 is neutral and anything below 7 is acidic and above 7 alkaline. The pH of hair is 5 meaning it is slightly acidic.
A slightly acidic rinse smooths up the hair cuticle and seals in moisture. It also lightens and enables shine on the hair. Rinsing using green tea, cider vinegar, chamomile, ginger, lemon juice gives good results. These also have good effect on scalp and reduce dandruffs. Cold water too smoothen the hair, so it is better to always use cold water to rinse hair.
